The four could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison for the theft
Last summer, in a predawn heist, five men wearing masks and carrying automatic rifles robbed a high-stakes poker game at a private poker club off Central Avenue in New York City. They escaped with thousands of dollars after assaulting and tying up the poker players.
Four of the alleged parties involved in the stick-up, all convicted felons, are facing felony assault and first-degree robbery charges in Albany County Court fourteen months later. Charles Williams, 34, and Larry Faulker, 45, appeared at a pre-trial hearing before Judge William Little on Thursday. Christopher Mozone, 36, and Terrence Anthony, 43, have also been charged. The defendants pleaded not guilty and face more than 30 years in prison if convicted.
Court documents say that on July 15, 2022, five people wearing black entered the A.C. Milan social club at 112 Central Avenue displaying rifles before they tied players’ hands behind their backs, pistol-whipping two of them and robbing them of their money and cell phones. On Thursday, a detective in the case testified that 15 to 18 people were inside the club at the time of the robbery.
Williams was paroled in 2021 after he was convicted of first-degree assault in the Bronx. In June, he was convicted in an unrelated case for first-degree robbery, second-degree kidnapping, and intimidating a witness in Albany County.
Williams is currently serving up to 20 years for abducting his former love interest and holding her at gunpoint for hours before taking her to the Hudson River. He then made her strip naked and walk to the end of a dock, where he tried to throw her into the water. After Williams asked her to recant her story and let her go, she reported the incident to the police.
