The annual poker tournament series in South Korea is adding a new twist this year
Triton Poker is launching a new tournament series aimed at mid-stakes players, with its debut “Triton One” event set to take place in Jeju, South Korea, this September. The series will run from September 2 to 8 at the Landing Casino & Resort and marks a strategic shift for Triton, which is widely known for its ultra-high-stakes tournaments.
The new Triton One series is designed as a more accessible entry point for players who have long aspired to compete in Triton events but haven’t had the bankroll to play in six-figure buy-ins. The festival will feature 12 events, with buy-ins ranging from $2,000 to $20,000, making it the most affordable stop ever offered by the brand.
Triton CEO Andy Wong described the new venture as an exciting step forward for the company. He said the One series is meant for players “of all levels” and sees it as a gateway into the upper tiers of competitive poker.
The lineup includes a variety of formats, such as single-day events, mystery bounties, and high rollers, with the $8,000 Main Event—featuring two starting flights—set to be the centerpiece from September 5 to 8.
The series kicks off with a $3,000 Genesis event and includes two $20,000 single-day high rollers, a $15,000 two-day high roller, and a $10,000 mystery bounty event. There will also be $1,500 satellite qualifiers available for the main event.
Once Triton One wraps up, the action continues with the Triton Super High Roller Series from September 8 to 23. That portion of the schedule returns to Triton’s high-stakes roots, featuring buy-ins from $25,000 to $150,000 and marquee events like the $100,000 Main Event and the WPT Global Slam.
