The EPT season is winding down, but not before adding a new stop to the list
The European Poker Tour (EPT) will hold its penultimate event of 2023 for the first time on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. PokerStars recently released the schedule for the 12-day poker fiesta that will run from October 11-22 at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa. This stop will likely be a popular one with players.
The $5,300 EPT Cyprus Main Event is the crown jewel of the series and will take place from October 16-22. Players from all over the world will travel to the captivating island to make their mark on the EPT Tour and take home a share of the prize pool.
Frenchman Simon Wiciak was the most recent player to make EPT history after winning the EPT Barcelona Main Event in September for €1,134,375 (US$1,195,677). João Sydenstricker finished as runner-up, securing a massive payout of €1,048,550 (US$1,105,214) for his efforts.
The series starts with the €1,100 (US$1,159) Eureka Main Event, running from October 12-16, with another considerable turnout anticipated after the €1,100 (US$1,159) Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event that took place in Barcelona broke attendance records a few weeks ago.
It attracted 7,398 entrants, making it PokerStars’ largest live event in history, and paid out a monumental €676,230 (US$712,773) from its €7,102,080 (US$7,485,876) prize pool to winner Lucien Cohen.
Two other EPT High Roller events will run during the series. The first will be the $50,000 buy-in EPT Super High Roller from October 15-17, followed by the $10,300 buy-in EPT High Roller from October 20-22.
