The popular poker tour is set to return, with a few improvements
PokerStars has verified that its European Poker Tour (EPT) will come back for season 18 after exceeding expectations in 2023. This was one of the most successful seasons so far after the addition of stops in Paris and Cyprus, which is why PokerStars has even bigger plans for 2024. Next year’s EPT schedule mixes past favorites and recent creations that have been updated based on player suggestions.
A total of 1,606 players entered EPT Paris in 2023, which was the sixth-biggest main event in EPT history. Organizers promise better logistics next year after long registration lines at the last event. The EPT Paris will move from the Hyatt Regency Hotel to Le Palais des Congrès, which has up to 120 tables, meaning February’s EPT Paris could grow even more. If so, the champion could win a bigger prize than 2023’s Main Event winner, Razvan Belea, who took home €1.17 million ($1,277,172).
The EPT travels to Monte Carlo in April. Salle des Etoiles at the Monte Carlo Bay Resort & Hotel will host the event before the tour heads to Barcelona, where even more records could fall. PokerStars LIVE celebrates the 20th year of the event with various promotions that are yet to be announced.
The EPT Cyprus returns for the second time, which was popular for many reasons in 2023. Players visited the all-inclusive Merit Royal Diamond Hotel to take in the October sun.
The final stop of the 2024 EPT season is in Prague, which always closes the season with a bang. There are high expectations for next year, with all the action using the Power Path qualification system recently introduced in 2023 to give an unlimited number of players an opportunity to play in upcoming EPT events.
