The European Poker Tour confirms the return of the Prague festival for December 2026

The European Poker Tour has officially announced that its signature winter stop in Prague will return for the 2026 season. After months of speculation, organizers confirmed that the festival will take place from December 2-13. This announcement secures the position of the Czech capital as a premier destination for international poker enthusiasts. The upcoming series is expected to serve as a grand finale for the tour, maintaining its reputation as one of the most prestigious stops on the calendar.

The confirmation comes after uncertainty regarding the future of the event. Many questioned if the festival would proceed this year, particularly following the conclusion of the World Series of Poker Europe in the same city earlier this month. Despite these hurdles, the decision ensures that the winter tradition remains intact, providing a regional option for competitors who might otherwise travel to global contests like the WPT World Championship or WSOP Paradise.

Historically, the Prague festival has demonstrated remarkable resilience and growth despite significant competition from rival brands. In recent years, the event has consistently generated massive interest, often producing record-breaking attendance figures.

For instance, previous iterations have seen prize pools exceeding $6.4 million in the main event, which typically carries a buy-in of approximately $5,700. This consistent draw has cemented the stop as a favorite for those seeking high-stakes action without traveling to the Caribbean or North America during the winter months.

The Prague series completes an ambitious 2026 schedule for the tour. Currently, the spotlight remains on Monte Carlo, which officially begins today. Following the Mediterranean stop, the tour will head to Spain for the Barcelona series from August 16 to August 29.

With the addition of the December dates in Prague, players have a clear roadmap for the year. Organizers are optimistic that the 2026 season will continue to set new benchmarks for prize pools across the circuit.
