Card Player Poker Tour to put $1M on the table this December

The tournament is coming to The Venetian in Las Vegas and will run for several weeks

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas will celebrate the new year from December 25 through January 7 with the DeepStack Extravaganza (NYE) tournament series. Almost $1 million in prize guarantees will be granted during the 19 events scheduled.

The highlight of the series will be the $400,000 guaranteed Card Player Poker Tour $1,600 buy-in main event, taking place starting on January 4. Three flights will be available from January 4-6 at 11:10 AM each day, with those who survive returning to play the remainder of the tournament on January 7 at 11 AM.

This is the 13th running of the CPPT Venetian main event, which has attracted over 5,900 entries and awarded more than $19.6 million in prize money in the previous 12 events. The all-time money leader is Jon Turner, cashing $737,858 during his two championships at The Venetian.

The January 2023 CPPT Venetian main event saw Alan Mastic overcome 560 entrants to take home $131,746 as the champion of the $1,600 buy-in tournament. The other tournament highlighted in the series is the $300,000 guaranteed $1,100 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) main event, with two starting flights beginning on December 28 and the remaining entrants playing down to a champion on December 30.

Prize guarantees during the DeepStack Extravaganza series range from $5,000 up to the $400,000 awarded during the CPPT main event. The series kicks off with the $250 No-Limit Hold’em UltimateStack $7,500 GTD and the $200 No-Limit Hold’em Bounty $5,000 GTD running on December 25.
