Arizona State Poker Championship coming to Talking Stick this month

The annual tournament starts on August 18 and has at least $1.1 million on the table

The 17th annual Arizona State Poker Championship will be hosted at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale again this year, welcoming all players and poker enthusiasts from August 18-22. The annual tournament is known for its high stakes and always attracts some of the most skilled players from around the country. However, the tournament’s press release shows that Talking Stick will feature a guaranteed prize pool of more than $1.1 million this year.

Poker pro Tiffany Michelle will host the activities again in 2023. She’s among the most recognized women in poker and a gold ring holder that has broken numerous records at the World Series of Poker. Michelle was the “Last Woman Standing” at the renowned event in 2008, finishing 17th out of a field of almost 7,000 players, according to the press release.

The Arizona State Poker Championship begins every day at 9 am in the Talking Stick Resort’s Arena Poker Room, with the semi-finals starting on Monday, August 21. Players must pay a $1,100 buy-in to enter the tournament and each will receive 20,000 tournament chips to start. However, players who wish to start with a bigger stack can buy an additional 10,000 bonus chips for an extra $30.

Those who survive until Day 5 will return at 10 am to play until a new tournament champion wins to take the 2023 Arizona State Poker Championship title and the top prize.

Talking Stick Resort is located in Scottsdale at 9800 Talking Stick Way.
