The ‘Breaking Bad’ star turns to poker to raise money for the Entertainment Community Fund
Award-winning Hollywood actor Bryan Cranston will host the ‘Lights! Camera! Ante Up! Celebrity Poker Tournament’ in partnership with the Entertainment Community Fund. It takes place on Sunday, November 12, at 1 PM Pacific time and will benefit the Entertainment Community Fund. Proceeds will help to support employees in the industry who have been affected by the current writers’ strike.
“What you see on screen goes beyond the faces in the frame. Hollywood could not produce one TV show or movie without the artisans behind the scenes. This poker tournament is about supporting the incredible people my friends and I are so lucky to work with every day … just as the Entertainment Community Fund has been doing for more than 140 years,” Cranston said.
Many of the biggest names in poker will sit down with some of Hollywood’s finest competitors. Among the stars in attendance will be Jason Alexander, Andy Garcia, Jon Hamm, Adam Carolla, Tony Denison, Hunter Doohan, Peter Mackenzie, Camryn Manheim, Steve Mason, Amy Landecker, Kevin Nealon, Mekhi Phifer, Kevin Pollak, Krysten Ritter and Bradley Whitford, with many others to join.
“The Entertainment Community Fund is beyond grateful for the continued support from our friends in Hollywood,” said Annette Bening, Entertainment Community Fund Chair of the Board. “Together, we’re dealing a winning hand to those who have illuminated our screens and stages for centuries.”
The Entertainment Community Fund has taken in more than $9.9 million in donations to help over 4,600 workers in TV and film as of October 19. Since May 2, it has accepted more than $18.7 million from over 12,200 generous donors.
