The tournament series hosted by Grosvenor Casinos will begin in January
The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) is set to return for its 19th season in 2025, offering players 14 exciting stops across the United Kingdom. The schedule, announced just after the conclusion of the 2024 Grand Final, includes 12 main tour stops and two events in partnership with 888poker LIVE. The 2025 tour will both kick off and wrap up in Coventry, promising another competitive year for poker enthusiasts.
The action begins with the first leg in Coventry from January 9-19, followed by a stop in Manchester Bury New Road in late January and early February. Coventry will also host the highly anticipated UK Open in February, marking one of the early highlights of the season. The tour’s return to iconic venues like Luton and Leeds is complemented by the re-opening of the newly refurbished Grosvenor Victoria Casino (The Vic) in London, scheduled for July.
Later in the year, players will compete in additional events in Coventry, Luton, and London before the tour moves to Edinburgh and then Blackpool. Blackpool will serve as the final warm-up event before the Grand Final returns to London, reclaiming its place after being held in Luton in 2024 due to renovations at The Vic. The season will conclude in December with “The Behemoth,” a £300 (US$384) buy-in event featuring a guaranteed prize pool of £250,000 (US$320,000) and a variety of side events.
The 2024 GUKPT season saw impressive victories, with Luke Porter, Nicholas Marchington, and William Watkins each securing six-figure prizes. Porter’s win at the London Main Event earned him £116,710 (US$149,410), while Marchington took home £146,560 (US$187,597) at the UK Open. Watkins turned a £200 (US$256) buy-in into a £166,058 (US$212,556) payday by claiming the Goliath title.
Online satellites for 2025 GUKPT stops will be available through Grosvenor Poker, which is partnering with the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT). This collaboration will offer players exclusive events, championship tournaments, and opportunities to qualify for live events. APAT, which has held over 300 tournaments at Grosvenor venues since 2006, continues to be a key part of the UK poker scene.
