Sunday Recap: Players take advantage of Venom Specials

Sunday was the second of five Day 1 options for the $10 Million GTD Venom.  Yet even if you didn’t participate in our biggest poker tournament ever, there were plenty of other exciting events yesterday, including a $1 Million GTD event.

$1,000,000 GTD Venom Sunday Special High Roller

1,591 high rollers participated in Sunday’s $1,000,000 GTD tournament. This $630 buy-in event had a $45,400 overlay, making it an even better value than just about everybody expected.  When it was all said and done, 180 players got paid. The top three after a final table deal:

$300,000 GTD Venom Special

Our $300K Venom Special was more special than advertised with 1,617 entries.  The final prize pool in this $215 buy-in tournament was an impressive $323,400.  Congrats to all 201 players who took home cash, especially the top three:

• Bandann ->$31,199

$250,000 GTD Venom Euro Special

European players and early risers didn’t waste any time on Sunday.  Our $250K GTD tourney featured 1,383 players and a final prize pool of $276,600.  In all, 175 players got paid.  The top three:

• Cudiluva -> $50,088
• wsopboy93 -> $36,460
• YoshiSuperstar -> $26,615

$300,000 GTD Warm Up

Our $300K Warm Up was hotter than anticipated with 3,106 entries.  The final prize pool in this popular $109 buy-in tournament was a fiery $310,600.  Props to the 838 players who took home cash, especially the top three:

• moiletsermaa -> $35,253.05
• SicaLorin -> $25,734.64

Apestyles Sunday Banana PKO – $400,000 GTD

ACR Pro Jon Van Fleet, who goes by Apestyles at our tables, hosted his popular progressive knockout bounty tourney on Sunday.  With a $1,050 buy-in and 399 entrants, there was a modest $1,000 overlay. 45 players cashed and several more earned bounties. Here’s the top three:

• Init2minit -> $33,934 + $250 bounty
• LJoseph62 -> $22,055 + $6,423.83 bounty
