Dual Venom Recap: $8 Million Mystery Bounty and $2 Million PLO Venoms beat expectations

Wow, what a ride! We’ve just wrapped up our inaugural Mystery Bounty and PLO Venom tournaments, and they both smashed through their guarantees.

Our $2,650 buy-in Mystery Bounty Venom was a monster hit. With an $8 million guarantee, we saw an incredible 3,234 entries, pushing the prize pool to a whopping $8,085,000. You can surely thank the five flexible Day 1 options and the prospect of earning up to a half million dollars for a single knockout blow.

Congrats to Ivan ‘chickenpastry’ Limeira from Brazil, who took home a cool $617,333 after eliminating Im_so_shOrt on Tuesday evening. Poker coach and WSOP bracelet winner Faraz ‘The-Toilet 0’ Jaka claimed the top bounty prize of $515,000 in his first-ever Mystery Bounty tourney. With hauls of $158,750 and $153,750 respectively, ‘provideordivide’ and ‘!Alexyo’ were the second and third biggest mystery bounty winners.

We were also pumped to see our ACR Pros in action. Chris Moneymaker, Drew Gonzalez, Jon Pardy, and Michael Loncar all threw their hats in the ring. Moneymaker and Pardy even live-streamed their Day 2 journey on our Twitch channel, giving the community a front-row seat to the fun.

Our inaugural PLO Venom, which was our largest Omaha tournament ever, also surpassed our expectations. With 914 entries across 5 Day 1 options, the final prize pool hit $2,332,500. Even poker legend and ACR Pro Tom Dwan got in on the fun. In the end, ‘omahafyrarolls’ took home the top prize of $471,378.
