The WPT will return to France and Italy in the upcoming season
The World Poker Tour (WPT), partnering with TexaPoker, has announced three WPT Prime events in France and Italy for the 2024 season. WPT Prime Aix-en-Provence, Sanremo and Paris were all confirmed after great success in 2023.
The affordable Prime events are popular on the WPT. The WPT Prime Main Events cost €1,100 ($1,159), and based on past attendance, this year will see another significant demand for mid-stakes events.
Just one WPT Prime event is left in 2023 at the Wynn Las Vegas, part of the WPT World Championship festival in December. The WPT Prime Championship has a $1,100 buy-in, with a huge $5 million guaranteed prize pool.
The 2024 WPT Prime season kicks off on January 26, 2024, at the Casino Grand in Aix-en-Provence, France. Reigning champion Samy Boujmala outlasted 456 players, taking home €83,180 ($87,642) in August.
The next WPT Prime Sanremo is at the Casino di San Remo from May 31 through June 10, 2024. The 2023 event saw 838 entrants, with Italian Simone Andrian winning the tournament to cash €147,020 ($154,944). Andrian would win the €1,100 PokerStars Summer Festival Malta Main Event three weeks later for another €153,610 ($161,890).
The 2024 WPT Prime season makes its third stop in Paris, which opened the 2023 season but has been pushed ahead to mid-October 2024. Fabrice Bigot was the last man standing in the 2023 event, where he bagged a decent payday of €177,240 ($186,793) for the win.
