Tom Orpaz takes second high roller title at the European Poker Tour

The Israeli poker pro has had an incredible summer at the tables

Israeli poker pro Tom Orpaz has dominated this year’s European Poker Tour Barcelona festival. He’s reached three high roller final tables in the past eight days, winning two titles and almost $915,000 in prizes.

Orpaz’s latest win was outlasting 24 entrants in the €50,000 ($54,293) buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event for $477,835 as the champion. That was his biggest win as a pro and came just six days after he took down a €25,000 ($27,147) high roller event for $275,918.

Orpaz’s fantastic run started when he finished third in another high-stakes event a couple of days before winning the first of two tournaments. He earned $154,656 in that €10,200 ($11,076) buy-in mystery bounty event.

The Tel Aviv real estate investor has reached eight final tables this year while stacking over $1 million in POY earnings and 1,475 Card Player Player of the Year points. Orpaz is now ranked in the top 250 in Global Poker’s POY rankings.

After his latest victory, Orpaz told PokerNews, “I’ve reached my goal. My goal was to make more than a million dollars in winnings and at least one trophy. I’ve got two of them and at least a million dollars. And we’re still here, right?”

Orpaz had to navigate through a challenging final table to get his latest win, featuring top pros like six-place finisher and 2019 EPT Barcelona €25,000 ($27,147) runner-up Gerard Pique, Justin Saliva, a two-time bracelet winner, nine-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel, Triton Super High Roller Series Cyprus $30,000 six-max event champion Ding Biao, and winner of the €10,300 ($11,184) buy-in event at the 2019 EPT Prague, Tsugunari Toma.
