Stephen Song adds three WSOP Circuit rings to his collection

Song only needed three weeks to pick up three more WSOP Circuit wins

Stephen Song had three World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) rings at the start of November and hadn’t won a tournament in almost a year. However, the 27-year-old has doubled his ring collection and increased his career tournament winnings to nearly $6 million.

The current Global Poker Index Mid-Majors Player of the Year, Song began his 2022 run in Chicago, taking the $1,700 Main Event for $183,508 over 652 runners at the Grand Victoria Casino, which easily went beyond the $750,000 guarantee.

Song was at another final table at a $1,100 tournament at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina two weeks later, winning the One for the Thumb event over 556 players and a $102,954 payday. With two rings in hand, Song would power through for his third in the $2,200 high roller event at Harrah’s Cherokee, outlasting 137 players to win another $72,583 just three days later. He came close to winning another WSOPC ring in an online event in March but finished second for $14,550.

Song is now close to joining the WSOP’s 100 cashes club, with 91. He earned his first cash in early 2018 and had a Circuit ring good for $13,000 and five final tables by November at just 22 years old. He won his only WSOP bracelet in a $1,000 event a year later, securing $341,854. He came close to winning his second in 2022 but finished as runner-up in the $5,000 six-handed No-Limit Hold’em event for his second-highest cash of $476,990.

Song’s biggest victory was at the $1,100 World Poker Tour Prime event last December for $712,650, which moved him to 11th on the GPI Mid-Majors leaderboard.
