The poker pro has earned two WSOP bracelets in as many weeks
Scott Seiver captured his second bracelet in two weeks after claiming the top prize in Event #40: $1,500 Razz at the World Series of Poker (WSOP). His sixth overall bracelet puts him into a tie with an elite group that includes Daniel Negreanu, Brian Rast and Josh Arieh.
Seiver also secured $141,374, increasing his career live earnings to $25,616,582, according to The Hendon Mob.
The winner began Day 3 with the chip lead, which he held for most of the day before taking down the final table that included bracelet winners Maxx Coleman, Ben Yu, and Brandon Shack-Harris, whom Seiver would beat heads-up for the title.
Seiver has big plans for the rest of the summer, explaining that he’s not done winning bracelets. “I want to win five more [this summer]. But realistically, I’ll probably only win two more,” he said after his latest win.
The victory was no surprise for Seiver, who confessed that it was a “weird feeling” to set an objective “close to impossible and then take the steps to do it.” In addition to winning bracelets, Seiver plans to win Player of the Year and be voted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
“I really, truly want to win Player of the Year this year. It’s the entire motivator,” he said. Seiver also believes his latest win should help his chances of getting into the Poker Hall of Fame.
Many of the same players will sit down for the next WSOP Razz tournament: Event #50: $10,000 Razz Championship, on June 19.
