Poker players pocketed $64 million from the Wynn Summer Classic

The final tally from the massive series more than doubled the guarantee

During the 2023 Wynn Summer Classic that ran from May 25 to July 19, the poker series offered 48 events with a $28 million guaranteed prize pool. Ultimately, $64,529,520 in prizes were awarded after 34,441 players paid their entries.

Buy-ins in the series ranged from $400 to $111,000, offering variants like Pot-Limit Omaha, Limit Omaha 8 / Stud 8, 5 Card PLO, 2-7 Triple Draw, 8 Game, and H.O.R.S.E.

The final event of the Wynn Summer Classic took place on July 17 with the $1,100 NLH $100K GTD. It featured 377 players, generating a prize pool of $369,460 shared among the top 39 finishers. Notable players to cash but not make the final table included professional boxer Ryan Garcia (17th place for $4,397), Brian Hastings (22nd place for $3,436), and Aleksandr Gofman (38th place for $2,457).

Michael Dentale made the final table and finished third to win $47,794, Rania Nasreddine took second for $57,331, and Elvis Toomas won $67,830 and the trophy for his biggest career win and third live tournament victory, according to the Hendon Mob.

The $10,500 NLH 6-Max tournament brought 115 entrants on July 15, with players looking for a share of the $1,150,000 prize pool. The top 13 players split the prize pool, with 2023 WSOP bracelet winners Nick Schulman taking 4th ($92,000) and Jan Arends finishing 6th place ($54,510). In addition, Brian Kim took 7th place ($45,770), Kevin Rabichow placed 10th ( $28,865), and Dominik Nitsche took 12th place ($25,185).

In the end, Ignacio Chavero of Spain defeated Russian Ramin Hajiyev ($250,925) heads-up to win the trophy and his biggest-ever live tournament score of $324,132.
