The event is part of the 2024 Venetian Resort Las Vegas Deepstack Extravaganza III
The Card Player Poker Tour (CPPT) is set to return to Las Vegas, with its main event kicking off on September 19 at The Venetian Resort. This year, the event is part of the 2024 Venetian Resort Las Vegas Deepstack Extravaganza III, which began on September 16. The main event carries a $1,100 buy-in and offers a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000, attracting players from across the poker world.
The tournament features three starting flights, taking place from September 19 to 21, with each day’s action beginning at 11:10 A.M PT. Those who advance to Day 2 will reconvene on September 22 to compete for the title and the coveted CPPT trophy. This marks the 15th time the CPPT has held a main event at The Venetian, a venue that has hosted some of the series’ most memorable moments. Jon Turner, the all-time CPPT money leader, has won two of his titles at this venue.
The previous CPPT Venetian event drew a strong field of 458 entries, generating a prize pool of $650,360, surpassing the initial $400,000 guarantee. In that tournament, Andrew Rodgers took home the top prize of $103,936 after a heads-up deal with Ankush Mandavia, who had previously won the 2021 CPPT Venetian event.
This year’s main event will be held in The Venetian’s new poker room, which opened in August. The expansive 14,000-square-foot space can host up to 50 tables, making it the largest poker room on the Las Vegas Strip. The venue is conveniently located near dining options and offers players easy access to the resort’s many amenities, including its award-winning restaurants and luxurious accommodations.
