Poker players have a lot of big tournaments to look forward to starting in December
The guaranteed prize pools keep rising on the World Poker Tour (WPT) scene. The $40 million guaranteed event beginning December 12 at Wynn Las Vegas expects to break attendance records. The $10,400 buy-in 2023 WPT World Championship No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournament has four starting flights and the TV Final Table beginning on December 21.
But besides the World Championship, the WPT has other big events during the festival at Wynn Las Vegas from November 29 to December 23. Executive Director of Poker Operations at Wynn Las Vegas, Ryan Beauregard, and Wynn Las Vegas Tournament Director Ray Pulford worked hard with their staff to ensure guests and players have the best possible tournament experience.
The record-breaking 2022 WPT World Championship event attracted 2,960 players and a $29 million prize pool, nearly doubling the $15 million guarantee. Canadian Eliot Hudon from Montreal took the $4.1 million prize to put his name on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.
The $600 buy-in $1 million guaranteed No-Limit Texas Hold’em event running from November 29 at Wynn also has several mini-satellites where players can win tickets to bigger tournaments, including the $5 million WPT Prime Championship and $40 million guaranteed WPT World Championship. Buy-ins start at $400, and no less than 25 seats will be awarded to winners at each satellite.
The $1600 buy-in $2 million Mystery Bounty No-Limit Hold ’em tournament on December 4 is popular with players, as survivors on Day 2 who knock out other poker players will win additional prizes.
The Wynn Las Vegas partnered with the WPT for the season-ending tournament festival. WPT Championship Series events have been a massive hit and will be a staple of future WPT World Championships in Las Vegas.
