MasterCard continues to explore different ways to extend its cryptocurrency reach
MasterCard resumes examining cryptocurrency benefits in its new partnership with the MoonPay crypto payment platform. The collaboration with MasterCard was announced by MoonPay on October 25, and aims to examine how Web3 tools can enhance experiential marketing or find new methods to link with MasterCard’s customers.
MoonPay also posted on X (formerly Twitter) that President Keith Grossman and MasterCard chief marketing and communications officer Raja Rajamannar publicized the partnership at the Money20/20 fintech show in Las Vegas.

“Mastercard will take advantage of MoonPay’s entire Web3 portfolio, including auth to minting to ETHPass and more as well as work closely with our agency, Otherlife, for strategy, creative and front-end dev work for their experiential initiatives,” said Grossmanin in a LinkedIn post.
Besides the new Web3 consumer ventures, MoonPay will work to incorporate MasterCard products and solutions to increase adherence and confidence across the Web3 sector. MoonPay will expressly be integrating MasterCard tools like “Click to Pay,” MasterCard Crypto Credentials and MasterCard Send.
“We’re so grateful for the partnership and even more excited about what’s ahead. Congrats to the full team,” commented Adam Polansky of MasterCard Web3 on Grossman’s post.
MasterCard partnership executive Elizabeth Taylor commented, “We are excited about this partnership and what’s to come.” MasterCard has yet to make an official announcement about the new partnership.
MasterCard has been vigorously researching the blockchain and crypto industry, recently adding numerous enterprise products to its portfolio. MasterCard launched a new program in 2022, authorizing banks to offer crypto trading capacities to consumers in cooperation with Paxos and teamed up with MoonPay and Coinbase to create payments using Web3 and nonfungible tokens.
